On December 31, 2024, cosmosy was introduced through the release of "zigy=zigy"'s music video.[n 1][1]
On February 3, 2025, it was announced that cosmosy signed with Sony Music Entertainment Korea.[2] The same day, it was also announced they would releasing "zigy=zigy" as their first and pre-debut digital single on global streaming platforms on February 7.[3]
Composition[]
"zigy=zigy" is a song that encapsulates the worldview and identity of cosmosy.[4] It is described as an Afro-pop-inspired dance track that integrates traditional Eastern influences. Including lyrics in Japanese, Korean and English, "zigy=zigy" explores teenage girls' inner struggles and identity dilemmas while facing a breakup. Its upbeat pluck synth sounds and an unexpected chorus are joined with a melody reminiscent of Japanese games.[5][6]
