Youngeun (Korean: 영은; Chinese: 永恩; Japanese: ヨンウン) is a South Korean singer under Biscuit Entertainment. She placed fifth on Mnet's reality survival show Girls Planet 999, making her a member of the girl group Kep1er.

Career

2021–2022: Girls Planet 999, Kep1er

On July 7, 2021, Youngeun was confirmed as an upcoming contestant on Mnet's newest reality show, Girls Planet 999, along with the other participating trainees, through the prologue trailer. Her official profile was released on July 17, 2021. The show began airing on August 6 and finished on October 22, 2021. During the show's finale, she was revealed to have ranked 5th overall, thus making her a member of Kep1er.

On January 3, 2022, she made her debut in the group with the release of their debut mini album First Impact.

Personal life

Passing of father

On March 7, 2023, Swing Entertainment and WAKEONE released a joint statement and stated that Youngeun's father had recently passed away and that she will be taking a break from Kep1er activities for the time being. On March 18, 2023, fans have assumed that Youngeun will be continuing schedules with the group as she appeared going to KCON 2023 Thailand with the rest of Kep1er, as well as going live on Instagram with Huening Bahiyyih.
