Yiren (Korean: 이런; Chinese: 怡人; Japanese: イロン) is a Chinese singer under Yue Hua Entertainment. She is the center and maknae of the girl group EVERGLOW.

She made her solo debut on August 31, 2022 with the single "Call Call".

Career[]

2018: Produce 48[]

In May 2018, she became a contestant on the survival show Produce 48. She was eliminated in episode 11 after ranking 28th place.[1]

2019: Debut with EVERGLOW[]

On February 18, 2019, Yue Hua Entertainment announced that Yiren and fellow Produce 48 contestant Kim Sihyeon would be debuting in the company's girl group EVERGLOW.[2] Yiren was officially revealed as the fourth member of the group on February 21.[3]

EVERGLOW officially debuted on March 18 with the single album "Arrival of EVERGLOW".

2022: Solo debut with "Call Call"[]

On August 26, Yue Hua announced that Yiren would release her first single "Call Call" on August 31.[4]

She earned her degree in Traditional Dance from Zhejiang Art Vocational Academy after graduating from Hangzhou No. 13 Middle School.[citation needed]

Health[]

On December 1, 2020, Yue Hua Entertainment shared that Yiren and Sihyeon had been diagnosed with COVID-19 disease. As a result, all remaining EVERGLOW members and their staff would go on voluntary self-isolation for two weeks. The group had recently recorded an episode of Yoo Hee Yeol's Sketchbook with a few other artists, but they all tested negative.[5]

On January 9, 2021, Yue Hua Entertainment that both Yiren and Sihyeon were out of isolation and tested negative on a final COVID-19 test. Thus, they were cleared to return to group promotions.[6]

Hiatus[]

On January 9, 2022, it was announced from Yiren that she would be taking a break from EVERGLOW temporarily as she will spend time with her family in China between mid-January to the end of February for academic schedules and will be suspended from activities for the time being.[7]

After a 10-month hiatus, she returned on November 8, 2022, when she returned to South Korea.[8]

On March 18, 2025, Yiren revealed she hasn't earned any income for her activities in EVERGLOW since their debut in 2019.[9][10]
