In 2019, he attended the Chinese survival show Youth WIth You. Unfortunately, on the 5th episode, Yi Chen was revealed to have been eliminated following the first round of eliminations.

2024: Project 7[]

On September 26, 2024, he was officially introduced as a contestant of Project 7.^[1] He ranked 12th place overall in the finale episode, thus being unable to debut with CLOSE YOUR EYES.^[2]

2025: Boys II Planet[]
