Yang Yang (Korean: 양양; Chinese: 扬扬; Japanese: ヤンヤン) is a Taiwanese rapper and singer-songwriter under SM Entertainment. He is a member of the boy group NCT, and its subunits WayV and NCT U. He is also one-half of WayV's subunit duo WayV-TEN&YANGYANG.
On July 17, 2018, he was introduced as a member of the pre-debut training team SMROOKIES.[1]
2018–2019: Debut with WayV[]
On December 31, 2018, it was announced that he would be a member of NCT's Chinese sub-unit, WayV.[2]The unit debuted on January 17, 2019 with the digital EP The Vision.
2020: Debut with NCT U[]
On October 12, he made his official debut under the sub-unit NCT U, as a part of the NCT's 2020 project NCT Resonance Pt. 1 with the song "Misfit".
He is multilingual, that is, he speaks several different languages: he is fluent in Mandarin, Korean, English and German, in addition to having an intermediate level of Spanish.[5]
He is considered by the other members of WayV to be the worst cook in the group (his lack of cooking skills is so serious that the other members of the group banned him from entering the kitchen in WayV's dorm for security reasons).[6][7]
