Yang Irae (양이레), also known as Yang Drea Irae (양 드레아 이레), is a French-Korean singer.
She is best known for being a contestant on the KBS singing competition program National Singing Contest, the Mnet mystery music game show I Can See Your Voice 7, the JTBC survival show Girls On Fire, and the TF1 French game show Secret Story 13.
Career[]
2017: National Singing Contest[]
On October 8, 2017, Yang Irae appeared as a contestant in a special Chuseok episode of the KBS singing competition program National Singing Contest. The episode featured overseas Korean singers who passed regional preliminary rounds.[1][2] She performed "U Go Girl" by Lee Hyori and "Les Champs-Élysées" by Joe Dassin.[3] At the end of the episode, she won a popularity award trophy and a ₩800,000 gift certificate.
2020: I Can See Your Voice 7[]
On February 28, 2020, she appeared as a contestant in the seventh episode of the Mnet mystery music game show I Can See Your Voice 7. She was selected as the winner of the episode by the guest actor Shin Hyun-joon. She performed "Solo" by Jennie when she revealed her voice at the end of the episode.[4][5]
On February 29, she released a cover of "Twit" by Hwa Sa as a digital single through the show as a prize for winning.[6]
2021: 2021 Korean Festival[]
On October 8, 2021, she appeared as a contestant on the MBN special Chuseok program 2021 Korean Festival : 재외동포와 함께하는 가요제. She performed "1,2,3,4" by Lee Hi during the show.[7][8]
2024: Girls On Fire, debut cancellation[]
On March 18, 2024, she was revealed as one of the 50 contestants competing on the JTBC survival show Girls On Fire.[9]
During the first three rounds, she performed "Red Lipstick" by Lee Hi & Yoonmirae in the second episode, "After Like" by IVE in the fifth episode with Kim Kyuri & Kim Chaewon, and "Like an Indian Doll" by Nami in the sixth episode with Khan Amina.[10][11][12]
During the first round of the playoffs, she performed "Pop/Stars" by K/DA in the eighth episode with Jung Yuri, Lim Okyeon, & Yoon Minseo.[13] For the second round, she performed "Get A Guitar" by RIIZE and "D.I.S.C.O" by Uhm Jung Hwa & T.O.P in the ninth episode with Lee Nayoung, Lee Sooyoung, Jung Yuri, & Cho Yein.[14][15]
During the first round of the finals, she performed "Fire!" produced by Young K in the 10th episode with Lee Nayoung, Lee Sooyoung, Jung Yuri, & Khan Amina.[16] She also performed "Done!" produced by Gaeko with Lee Sooyoung, Kim Kyuri, Hwang Seyoung, & Kang Yunjeong.[17]
During the second round of the finals, she performed "Standing Next to You" by Jung Kook and "Rest" by Doyoung in the 11th episode with Lee Sooyoung, Hwang Seyoung, Lee Nayoung, & Cho Yein.[18][19]
On June 25, it was announced that she finished in fifth place and became a member of the winning group of the show with Lee Nayoung, Hwang Seyoung, Lee Sooyoung, & Kang Yunjeong.[20]
However, on December 23, it was announced that the debut of the group had been cancelled due to circumstances with the agency they were supposed to join after the show.[21][22]
2025: "OULALA", Secret Story 13[]
On March 29, 2025, during the French Koreo Awards show, she released a teaser for her new song "OULALA" that she was planning to release as part of her upcoming mini album during the summer.[23][24]
On June 10, she was revealed as one of the 14 contestants competing for a prize of €100,000 on the French reality game show Secret Story 13.[25][26][27] The show premiered with a live episode on the same day.[28] She was eliminated from the show on June 26.[29]
On August 7, she made a guest appearance in the final episode of Secret Story 13 and performed "How You Like That" by BLACKPINK.[30]
