History[]

2020: Original plans, new group debut[]

On April 24, A100 originally announced that NeonPunch would be coming back as a three-member unit in June with member Dohee unable to participate in promotions due to personal reasons and May taking on a hiatus to focus on her studies.[2]

On May 13, A100 released a profile photo of the unit and revealed their name as XUM.[3]

On August 11, A100 confirmed the disbanded of NeonPunch due to difficulties into maintaining the group with reasons such as the COVID-19 pandemic. With Dohee and May's future plans currently unknown, Dayeon, Baek Ah, and Iaan would re-debut as a new girl group in August under the unit's name, XUM.[4] On August 12, it was announced that the group would make its official debut on August 25, 2020 with the single album "Ddalala".[5]

On August 20, the group announced their debut has been delayed after one of their staff members contacted someone who had COVID-19 and that the staff and members had shared in the same space together. Testing was done and the following day announced the tests came back negative. The members have stopped all activities and will be in self quarantine for 2 weeks.[3][6] Their debut was re-scheduled for September 24.[7]

2021: Disbandment[]

On June 1, 2021, the agency announced XUM had disbanded on their YouTube community post.[8]
