XING Entertainment (씽엔터테인먼트) is a South Korean entertainment company. It was founded in 2006 by former SM Entertainment CEO Kim Kyung-wook.[1]
Controversies[]
Contracts termination with XING's Yume, Poppin' Dragon, Chun Hye Sung and Kevin[]
In 2008, XING's Yume and Poppin' Dragon, Chun Hye Sung filed a lawsuit against the agency for their "slave contracts". This was followed by Kevin filing his own lawsuit against the agency after his departure from the group on April 3, 2008.
Yume, Poppin' Dragon and Chun Hye Sung later won the lawsuit and terminated their contracts with the agency on January 23, 2009, followed by Kevin on March 21, 2010.[2][3]
Lawsuit against KBS for Jong Junhyung's remarks about the agency[]
In January 2012, Poppin' Dragon, then a member of BEAST under the name Jong Junhyung, revealed on KBS2's show Win Win that he had signed a "slave contract" with his former agency. When he expressed his desire to leave the agency, the CEO called him to a bar and drunkenly threatened him with a broken bottle of alcohol.[4]
On October 28, 2013, it was reported that XING Entertainment had filed a lawsuit against KBS in July, demanding the broadcast station to correct Junhyung's remarks about the agency.[4]
On October 12, 2016, The Supreme Court ruled that KBS had to air a rebuttal to Junhyung's comments about the agency.[5]
