WEUS (위어스) is a four-member boy group under WEUS Entertainment. Originally as eight, they made their debut on April 3, 2023 on Simply K-pop Con-Tour with their debut stage for "Purple Sky".
History[]
Pre-debut[]
On December 28, 2022, WEUS Entertainment announced that they are holding auditions for their new boy group set to debut in 2023.[1]
On February 27, 2023, they revealed the first two members, Jeongmin and Chanwook,[2][3] followed by Boyul and Jeongyoon on March 2.[4][5]
Between March 21 and 22, they revealed two new members, Gun (later known as Keon) and Hyukjin.[6][7]
On March 27, WEUS Entertainment revealed that WEUS Boyz are preparing for their debut through some photo shoot with eight members, but it was seen that there is not Seungyeon anymore, hinting his departure from the group and the agency.
2023: Debut with "Purple Sky", changing logo, multiple members departures, Wooju's return, "Fate"[]
On March 29, WEUS Entertainment revealed that WEUS will make their debut on April 3, 2023 with a debut stage on the music program Simply K-pop Con-Tour for the single album "Purple Sky".[8]
On April 5, they changed their logo due to similarity with ONEWE's logo.[9]
On April 17, WEUS Entertainment announced that Wooju left the group due to health issues.[10]
In June 2023, WEUS Entertainment revealed, through an official statement, that Keon, Chanwook and Jeongyoon left the group due to unknown reasons.
On September 29, WEUS Entertainment announced that Wooju would be returning as a member of the group starting in October, clarifying that his contract has not terminated yet.
On November 29, they returned with their single album "Starry Dream".
