WE-SAY (위세이) was a pre-debut five-member girl group under Liz Entertainment.

History[]

2020–2022: Pre-debut as ZEROSIX[]

Liz Entertainment had fans vote to decide their upcoming girl group's name; the two options were 'Luminous' or 'ZeroSix', of which, 'ZeroSix' was chosen as the group name.[1]

On December 3, Liz Entertainment began releasing the first set of group member reveal photos, which consisted of four members: Xindy, Byeolha, Ye Hwa and Seo-A.[citation needed] Much later, on January 11, 2021, the fifth member, Davin, was revealed to have joined the group line-up to make ZEROSIX a five-member girl group.[2]

ZEROSIX was originally set to debut in February 2021,[3] however the month had passed with no updates on their debut plans. Nonetheless, the group remained active across social media, and on August 27, 2021, they announced their first concert held along with Liz Ent.'s other girl group, ICU, on August 29.[4]

On December 10, 2021, due to a delayed group debut, it was revealed that member Xindy would make her solo debut first.[5] It would be revealed that her solo debut date was set for May 30, 2022. In addition, due to internal circumstances, the group is now set to debut in the second half of 2022.

On May 30, 2022, Xindy made her solo debut with the digital single "Mermaid".

In June 2022, ZEROSIX's page on Liz Entertainment's website was updated to show Xindy as a solo artist for the company but still mentions her as a member of ZEROSIX.[6][7] Meanwhile, Byeolha, Ye Hwa, Seo-A, and Davin's profiles were removed, indicating that they presumably have left the group. Xindy had also been added to Chic Angel.

2023: Pre-debut as WE-SAY[]

Due to these circumstances and the group's one year inactivity, it was largely initially speculated that their debut had been cancelled. However, over a year later, on August 31, 2023, the group's Instagram was rebranded as WE-SAY, hinting that the agency still had plans to debut the girl group.

On September 12, 2023, the group announced their first pre-debut digital single "Same or Different", featuring Xindy and new member Lina, and it was subsequently released September 14.[8] Later, newly added Chic&I's members Loa and Sara were revealed to have become part of WE-SAY. Additionally, U Hee who is a member of the agency's other girl group Chic Angel, had been added to WE-SAY. Thus, WE-SAY had been reformed as a five-member girl group.

2024: Disbandment[]

On March 8, 2024, Liz Entertainment announced that the group's debut got canceled after Xindy terminated her contract, Lina decided to focus on her studies and Sara went back to Japan due to health issues.[9]
