VVUP (비비업) is a four-member girl group under EgoENT, they made their debut on April 1, 2024 with the digital single "Locked On".
In the name 'VVUP,' 'VV' stands for 'W,' the first letter of 'WIN.' It also conveys the idea of continually ascending to the top and their intention to spread hope to the public with their unique positive energy.[2]
History[]
Pre-debut[]
On February 22, 2024, news articles reported that EgoENT will debut an upcoming girl group in the first half of 2024 and will release a pre-debut single on March 13.[3]
On February 23, the group dropped their first group photo and announced their first pre-debut single "Doo Doom Chit".[4] Later on February 26, they revealed their first member to be Hyunny and their pre-debut release date as March 13, 2024.[5][6] Kim was revealed on February 27,[7][8] followed by Paan on February 28,[9] and Suyeon on February 29.[10][11]

On March 25, 2024, VVUP announced that they would be debuting on April 1 with the digital single "Locked On".[12]
On June 7, EgoENT posted a coming soon photo on VVUP's SNS accounts for their upcoming comeback.[13] The name of the digital single was revealed to be "Ain't Nobody" , set to be released on July 3.[14]
On August 29, EgoENT announced that member Hyunny would be leaving the group due to health issues.[15]
On December 26, EgoEnt confirmed the group will be adding a new member to their lineup to replace Hyunny.[16]
On December 27, EgoENT posted a photo on VVUP's SNS accounts for their upcoming comeback titled "4 Life". It was announced as a special digital single set to be released on December 30.[17] Later on the same day Naver released articles mentioning the new member as Jiyoon.[18] However, due to the recent Jeju Air Flight 2216 crash accident, the release was postponed.[19] They later announced the new release date to be January 10, 2025.[20]
