Background[]

On February 14, 2023, it was reported that fromis_9 was making comeback preparations and planned to release their first full-length album mid-March, though it never materialized at the time.[2] Three months later, on May 15, a teaser photo posted revealed the group's first full-length album, titled Unlock My World, would be released on June 5.[3][4]

Composition[]

"Attitude" is a pop dance genre song with a dark atmosphere beat, starting with a captivating intro. The sharp string makes the atmosphere tense, and the chic vocal line that is casually spit out in the chorus adds a twist. Even if the reality in front of your eyes feels frightening and distant, the lyrics of fromis_9 will open the door to the 1st regular album with the content that you will believe in yourself and keep that attitude until the end.[5]

"#menow" is a song with a sophisticated and contemporary rhythm. The rich chorus vocals were added to further enhance the perfection. It is a song that conveys the message of wanting to get closer to the other person by honestly showing the current appearance without any decorations.[5]

"Wishlist" has an R&B melody based on the light tempo beat and clear sound synthesizer gives a cozy and dreamy feeling. This song contains the message of wanting to show oneself as oneself rather than trying to conform to the opinions and expectations of others, with the vocals of two fromis_9 members, 'Park Ji Won' and 'Lee Chae Young', harmonizing together.[5]

"In The Mirror" is a song that starts with an irregular double-time melody, and the catchy chorus is impressive. Looking at my reflection in the mirror, I worry about 'what my real self is', but it is conveying the message that 'no matter what anyone says, you must stay focused and not be shaken'. This is a unit song by 'Lee Na Gyung' and 'Lee Seo Yeon', and the two members' pure yet groovy voices stand out.[5]

"Don't Care" is a dance-pop song with a rhythmic and strong bass, that catches your ears with a cool burst of sound in the chorus. It contains a bold confession that I will not hide my flaws and will reveal them all, and the new vocal combination of the four members 'Park Ji Won', 'Roh Ji Sun', 'Lee Seo Yeon' and 'Lee Na Gyung' is also an unmissable attractive point. The powerful yet delicate voice stays in your ears for a long time.[5]

"Prom Night" is a song of the UK-Garage genre that combines an attractive melody line, a fast-paced drum beat, and a vintage synth sound to create a dynamic harmony. It is a unit song with the participation of 'Lee Sae Rom', 'Song Ha Young', 'Lee Chae Young' and 'Baek Ji Heon', and the members' delicate killing voices make the song even more fascinating. The song shows a free side through the lyrics, ‘Let’s put aside our dizzying worries, forget everything and dance.’[5]

Ethnic sound riff and groovy R&B feel, "Bring It On" creates a minimal yet unique sound of fromis_9 with the sound of a whistle and a unique rhythm. The lyrics, which continue the upbeat mood of the song, lead to a new world that Promise Nine will show, saying to the opponent who is shrunken, 'What is there to be afraid of'.[5]

"What I Want" is a sophisticated track with a touch of electro-pop and a vocal melody, shows fromis_9 being honest with their emotions. As the chorus repeating 'Now I know what I want' represents, it shows an enterprising image of knowing what it is it wants and trying to achieve.[5]

"My Night Routine" is a song that contains a comfortable yet warm R&B melody that contrasts with a track that stands out with a groove. The friendly lyrics that make you feel like you're together even when you're apart are impressive, always doing the same routine before going to bed.[5]

"Eye Contact" is a song that combines a simple melody that can be sung together with an energetic rock sound. It's a lovely song that makes you dream about.[5]
