Universe League (유니버스 리그) is an upcoming South Korean survival show that will air on SBS sometime in November 2024.
Concept[]
Universe League follows the story of 42 contestants who will participate in a series of missions for a chance to debut in a global K-Pop boy group. The show will feature an entirely different format from the first season of the show. The upcoming second season will feature a league of teams battling against one another, and the final winning team that secures the “Prism Cup” will be the team that gets to debut.
In keeping with the league format, contestants will form teams through a draft system before competing against one another, and just like in professional sports, members will be traded between teams.
History[]
On January 17, 2024, during the finale of the first season of Universe Ticket, at the very end during the credits, it was revealed that auditions would begin shortly in preparation to debut a boy group.[1] On January 22, it was announced that the show would officially air sometime in the end of the year.[2] On April 14, the show will feature an entirely different format from the first season of the show. The upcoming second season will feature a league of teams battling against one another, and the final winning team that secures the “Prism Cup” will be the team that gets to debut. They announced they will be opening global auditions on April 22 until June 30 for any male born before 2011, regardless of nationality, affiliation with an agency, or past experience as a singer.[3]
