U_Chae (유채), formerly known as Dajeong (다정), is a South Korean singer and lyricist under JUNITY Entertainment. She is a former member of the girl group PIXY and the kids girl group SUPA.
She made her solo debut with the mini album Awake on July 31, 2024.
Career[]
2016–2018: SUPA[]
Dajung debuted as a member of SUPA on November 8, 2016 with the release of their first digital single, "SUPA". The girl group released one more single in 2017 before disbanding the following year.
2020–2024: PIXY, solo debut with Awake[]
On July 3, 2020, she was revealed as a member of the then upcoming girl group PIXY.[1] The group debuted on February 24, 2021 with the digital single "Wings".
On June 20, 2024, she announced via her Instagram that she had left PIXY.[2]
On June 22, it was announced that she will be a special panelist at the 2024 Otakon under her new stage name, U_Chae.[3]
On July 11, U_Chae announced that she would be making her solo debut coinciding her birthday on July 31 with the mini album Awake. Prior to the album's release, "One Sweet Day" would be made available as a pre-release single on July 17.[4]
On November 10, it was announced that U_Chae will return as a musical guest performer at the Anime Weekend Atlanta. She first performed there with PIXY in 2022.[5]
On December 1, she revealed via Instagram story that she would be releasing a new single for Christmas.[6] It was released on December 4 with the title "You Are My Christmas".
On December 8, it was announced that U_Chae will be releasing the digital single "Morning Call", featuring Japanese singer Uki Satake, on December 10.[7]
2025: "Winter", Japanese debut with Prism of Love[]
On January 10, 2025, it was announced that U_Chae will be making a comeback with the digital single "Winter" on January 16.[8]
On February 2, JUNITY Entertainment announced that there were problems in the manufacturing of U_Chae's upcoming Japanese debut album Prism of Love. The release date has been moved to March 5 instead of February 5 as originally planned. "Red Sun" will act as a pre-release for the album, to be released on February 11 as compensation for the delay.[9]
