UEE (유이), also written as Uie (유이), is a South Korean singer and actress currently under Lucky Company. She is a former member of the girl group After School and its sub-unit After School Red.

Career[]

Pre-debut[]

In 2007, UEE was set to debut as a member of Five Girls, a five-member girl group under Good Entertainment. However, due to financial issues, the group was disbanded before they could debut. Other members of Five Girls included Yubin, G.NA, Jun Hyo Seong, and Yang Ji Won.[2]

2009: Debut with After School[]

On April 9, 2009, UEE made her official debut as a second-generation member of After School with the digital single "Diva".

2017: Graduation from After School[]

On May 31, 2017, Pledis Entertainment announced UEE's graduation from the group and departure from the agency after eight years of activities.[3]

The next day, June 1, Yuleum Entertainment announced that UEE had signed on with the agency.[4]

2019: New agency[]

On July 4, 2019, King Entertainment announced that UEE had signed on with the agency.[5] The agency was made defunct in 2021 after it was acquired by another agency. Later in 2021, she signed with Lucky Company.

Personal life[]

Relationship[]

On May 2, 2016, it was revealed UEE was in a relationship with actor Lee Sang Yoon.[6] On January 25, 2017, it was announced the couple had broken up due to busy schedules.[7]

On July 14, 2017, it was announced UEE and singer Kangnam had been dating for three months after meeting as cast members on the variety show Law of the Jungle.[8] However, two weeks later on August 1, both sides confirmed they had broken up.[9]
