UAU (유아유) is the upcoming first sub-unit of the girl group Dreamcatcher. They will make their debut on May 28, 2025 with the mini album Playlist #You Are You.
Their group name is derived from a letter in each of the member's names in Hangul. It means "you are you" as the group plans to deliver a message where the people will find themselves while feeling free and comfortable whenever they listen to UAU's music.[1]
History[]
Pre-debut[]
On March 10, 2025, Dreamcatcher Company revealed that JiU, SuA and Yoohyeon will engage in unit activities.[2]
On April 3, SuA accidentally revealed her unit with JiU and Yoohyeon is named UAU through the group's fromm.[3]
On April 17, Dreamcatcher Company confirmed the sub-unit's name to be UAU through a logo motion released on Dreamcatcher's SNS accounts.[4]
2025: Debut with Playlist #You Are You[]
On April 23, 2025, it was announced that the group will make their debut in May 2025.[5]
On May 7, Dreamcatcher released the scheduler for UAU's debut mini album Playlist #You Are You, scheduled for release on May 28.[6]
