—Tiny-G

Tiny-G (타이니지) was a four-member girl group under GNG Production. They debuted on August 23, 2012 with their first self-titled digital single "Tiny-G".

On February 10, 2015, it was announced the group would go on an indefinite hiatus, with the members focusing on individual activities.[1] However, they presumably disbanded as the group was removed from GNG Production's website and the members going their separate ways.

Their group name is short for "Tiny Giant" and they are known for having an average height of 153cm.[2]

History[]

Pre-debut[]

Prior to their debut, Tiny-G made their first public appearance on MBC's show Music & Lyrics and was given a song composed by Jay Park and Lee Siyoung, titled "Polaris".[3] They later had their first live stage on Show Champion and performed the song with Jay Park on the 24th.[4] The song was official released to streaming platforms on May 5, under the name "MBC Music & Lyrics Part.3 Jaebeom-Siyoung".

2012-2013: Debut with "Tiny-G", "Minimanimo", "Miss You"[]

On August 23, 2012, Tiny-G officially made their debut with the self-titled digital single "Tiny-G". The same day, they had their debut stage on M Countdown.[5]

On January 21, 2013, the group made their first comeback with the digital single "Minimanimo".

On October 1, they returned with their third digital single "Miss You".

2014-2016: Myungji's departure, "Ice Baby" and Tiny-G M[]

On March 12, 2014, Dohee and J.Min released an OST for MBC's drama Cunning Single Lady, titled "Mirror Mirror".

On June 26, GNG Production announced that Myungji had left the group to focus on her acting career.[6] A week later, on July 3, Tiny-G released their fourth digital single "Ice Baby".

In November 2014, it was announced that Mint and J.Min would be promoting as a sub-unit while Dohee was focused on her acting career.[7] On the 25th of the same month, Mint and J.Min's sub-unit Tiny-G M made their debut in Thailand with the digital single "The Only One".

2015-2016: Indefinite hiatus and disbandment[]

On February 10, 2015, Daily Sports reported that Dohee had been refusing to participate in Tiny-G’s activities to focus on her acting career after gaining popularity in Reply 1994. However, their agency denied the claim, stating that Tiny-G was on a hiatus, with the members focusing on their individual activities.[1] According to Dohee, Tiny-G’s indefinite hiatus was the agency’s decision, not hers.[8]

In early 2016, Mint's name was removed from the company's website. Shortly after this, the names of the remaining members, Dohee and J.Min, along with the group's name, were also removed, signaling Tiny-G's unofficial disbandment.
