Time Turner (타임터너) was a global girl group survival show that was broadcasted on TikTok.[1] It was the first ever live survival show hosted by the platform.
The show's first episode premiered on Friday, November 8, 2024 at 9 PM (KST). It spanned for two weeks with 6 episodes and 7 livestreams in total.
The final episode aired on November 22, 2024 where the final top 5 contestants were announced.
Concept[]
Time Turner plans to search for a new generation of global entertainers. The audition will take place in an area of space-time known as P-134, somewhere with infinite potential and where dreams come true through time travel. The contestants who take on this quest are called "Floaters" as they are searching for a spot to debut. The MCs are known as the "Captains" as they have the role of connecting to the viewers and steering the course of the show. The fans and audience are called as "Polaris" as they shine light to guide the contestants of the show. They will help select the winners through voting pre-show and during the episode as the global TikTok audience. The concept is in reference to Polaris, the brightest star in the constellation Ursa Minor (also known as the Little Dipper), and how it is used to guide sailors and floaters to navigate the sea.
The winners will debut as Time Turners who journey through time while creating music and art.[1]
Background[]
On August 28, 2024, it was announced that PI Corporation and Makestar would be producing a girl group survival show, titled Time Turner, which would air live on TikTok.[2] Auditions are open to any woman aged 19 or up, regardless of nationality, until September 18.
On September 6, it was reported that successful applicants would begin activities on TikTok in October, whilst the show would officially launch in November.[1] In late October, they have teased the audience with childhood photos of the contestants. By October 25, the contestants of the show have been revealed on several SNS sites.
On November 2, Time Turner released an on-air schedule via their SNS platforms which showed the program will last for two weeks straight. It will only have two rest days (November 13 & 21). The finale will air on November 22.[3]
On November 4, the signal song "Find Me Now" for the show had been released digitally across music streaming platforms.[4] The succeeding days after this, videos of the contestants were posted performing the theme song on their personal SNS accounts.
Time Turner had also released the contestants' official profiles and self introduction videos on the show's official pages days leading before the premiere.
MCs[]
On November 6, 2024, the MCs, or the main hosts, of the show were announced to be influencer, Ddo Muk (also known as Ji Gamin) and actor & former idol, Hyun Bin. They are referred to as "Captain".[5] They are also joined by guest hosts such as influencers, Hyemin & Carey, dance group, ChillLit, and Single's Inferno Season 3 participant, Park Minkyu.

Live #1: Episode 1 (Solo Live Battle I) (November 8, 2024)[]
Time Turner started by beginning the broadcast live with "Captain" Ddo Muk and "Captain" Hyun Bin introducing the concept of the show and how the voting system works. The "Captains" revealed an elimination will be done at the end of the episode as the contestant with the least amount of votes will have to end their journey by then. They announced contestant Randa Ray left before the show began due to personal reasons so they will move forward with 18 contestants. They also announced influencer, Hyemin, as an on stage reporter for the episode. Korean dance group, ChillLit, were also guests for the episode and they introduced the solo battle.
One by one, the "Captains" revealed all 18 contestants with them showcasing their talents after being called. Each of them had 8 minutes to perform and introduce themselves in order to win the audience's votes. Once their time is up, voting is closed. TikTok gifts and stickers counted as votes for the contestant.
While the votes were being tallied, an interview portion was done.
The first contestant to be eliminated is Aiala.

Live #2: Solo Live I (November 9, 2024)[]
The "Floaters" are given the chance to connect with "Polaris" through TikTok live. They are able to showcase their charms and talents in a more personal manner. In this livestream, they did it individually.
Live #3: Solo Live II (November 10, 2024)[]
A continuation to the previous livestream. The contestants go on solo lives to greet and connect with the fans.
Live #4: Episode 2 (Solo Live Battle II) (November 11, 2024)[]
The "Captains" welcomed the audience and explained how the show will go on. While it would be a solo performance like the previous episode, the "Floaters" were paired up with each other so the scores were compared directly as a head to head match. The 1 v 1 battle pairs were based on the ranking from the last episode. It was revealed that the Rank 1 from the previous episode has been gifted with benefits such as immunity from the 1 v 1 battle and the position of team leader in one of the 4 units for the next performance. It was also revealed that influencer, Carey, as a guest host for the episode.
The battle proceeded with the pairs doing their individual performances and then having a three minute period for more support time to gather votes from "Polaris" after. The ones who fail their battle would go to the next round to compete once more and so on. There were 3 rounds in total for this episode. Despite having immunity, Kelly Kim, still went on stage for a performance after Round 1.
The "Floaters" who won the first round had the privilege to be a contender as a team leader. After using the fishbowl method, the chosen leaders were Khloe Kim, Annatalia, and OKOI. The four leaders are given the privilege to pick their unit members and the song they were going to sing from a curated list.
The contestant to be eliminated for this episode was Eungi after she failed to receive enough votes to secure her spot in all three rounds.

Live #5: Team Live (November 12, 2024)[]
In this livestream, the four units went on their own time and talked with "Polaris". They had bonded together as a team and tried to do the same with their fans. They had also picked their unit names and designed their logos for their performance in this live.
The teams went in this order: BoBa (Kelly Kim’s unit), 4ever (Khloe Kim’s unit), PICKME (Annatalia’s unit, and lastly REWIND (OKOI’s unit.).
Live#6: Episode 3 (Team Battle) (November 14, 2024)[]
Its the third battle of the show. For this, the battles would be done by group that was chosen in the previous episode. The "Captains" explained the flow of the team battle. Teams would be pitted against each other. Similar to the other episodes, "Polaris" would send stickers corresponding to the team they support in as votes. Before their team performance in Round 1, the respective leaders had their solo stage which serve as them showcasing their skills and have more time to gather votes for their unit. Each team would a total of 15 minutes.
For Round 2, there were two types of Random Play Battle. The first type was a battle between the team leaders would compete 1 v 1 and then, it was followed by their members facing off each other. Each match up had different categories that were picked at random by the "Captains". Round 3 featured extra time for the voting with the leaders being interviewed.
After the votes were combined and tallied, the unit PICKME (Annatalia, Dalia, Sim Yerin, and O Nayoung) ranked last and were eliminated. However, a last minute announcement was made that all eliminated contestants had the chance to be in the competition once more as the next episode would be a surprise Wildcard Round.

The remaining "Floaters" did a livestream to show a glimpse of their daily lives. It was a way to personally reach out to the audience.
Live #8: Episode 4 (Wildcard Round) (November 16, 2024)[]
Time Turner held the Wildcard Round where the eliminated contestants returned to be able to enter the program again. This consolation match had 2 rounds. In the first round, the eliminated "Floaters" did their prepared solo performances. Each match would be 15 minutes. The contestant with the highest amount of score would advance immediately and had the chance to spin the roulette in the 2nd round. The remaining hopeful "Floaters" had 10 minutes to promote themselves. An interview portion was done before proceeding to the next round. In the second round, it was the Russian Roulette battle in which it was all about luck on who would proceed.
Sim Yerin got the most votes in Round 1 giving her a ticket to secure her spot in the contest once more. Annatalia won Round 2 making her the second contestant to officially return in the competition. The assigned duo units for the next battle was revealed before the broadcast live ended. Single's Inferno Season 3 participant, Park Minkyu, was the guest host for this episode.

The contestants did their livestream as a duo from the previously announced unit. This made the "Polaris" see the chemistry of each pair together. The duos also picked their unit name in this livestream.
Live #10: Episode 5 (Unit Battle) (November 18, 2024)[]
The battle for this episode was between units that were made up of two members. It was assigned on random the previous episode. The "Captains" revealed that 5 out of 7 units would survive this battle. The bottom 2 teams would leave the show. There were 2 rounds. For the first round, the units would perform their prepared stage. The second round would give the "Floaters" 1 minute of additional support time to have the contestants show more of their dynamic as a duo and reveal their individual personalities so they could gain more votes from the audience.
Goeun, Dain, Annatalia, and Kim Seonhyeong were the contestants eliminated after announcing that their duo units ranked low.

The remaining "Floaters" did an individual livestream for their "Polaris".

It was the last livestream before the contestants were given a rest day before the final episode.
Live #13: Episode 6 (Finale) (November 22, 2024)[]
All the "Floaters" performed their signal song "Find Me Now" together, including the eliminated ones in which they were interviewed by the "Captains" to open the show. Lea Navvab was their ending fairy. For the finale's show format, the contestants had a 20 minute 1 v 1 match to serve as the first round. Each contestant had an assign color so the "Polaris" can cast their votes easily. An interview video was shown before the "Floaters" performances. A second round was done in which the "Floaters" had a specific sticker that the audience could send to show support. It lasted for 5 minutes.
The final results consisted of pre-show votes and the votes gathered from Round 1 & Round 2. An interview portion was done to the 10 contestants as the votes were being tallied.
The "Captains" then announced the final 5 where they began with Rank 1. Kelly Kim placed 1st, followed by Sim Yerin, Lu Yuting, and Cleo place subsequently in descending rank order. Lea Navvab was revealed to rank 5th place making her the final member of the debut lineup.
The episode ended with all the women coming together to congratulate and support each other. The debut group’s SNS accounts were also revealed during this day prior to the episode airing.
