The World EP.2 : Outlaw is the ninth mini album by ATEEZ. It was released on June 16, 2023 with "Bouncy (K-Hot Chilli Peppers)" serving as the album's title track.
The physical album comes in twelve versions: A, Diary, Z, eight digipak versions and Platform.
Background[]
On April 29, the Seoul Economic Daily reported that ATEEZ will be releasing an album in June.[1] Although KQ Entertainment has not confirmed the report, fans discovered a QR code on a banner outside the venue of ATEEZ's encore concert in Seoul on April 28, leading to a teaser poster hinting at the group's upcoming comeback.[2] On May 14, they posted a teaser for their ninth mini album, The World EP.2 : Outlaw, set to be released on June 16.[3]
Commercial performance[]
As of June 17, The World EP.2 : Outlaw had reached #1 in 34 different countries on the iTunes Top Albums chart.[4]
Hanteo reported that The World EP.2 : Outlaw sold 756,748 copies in its first day of release.[4] The album sold 1,521,275 copies in its first week of release, which makes it ATEEZ's first album to surpass 1 million in one week.[5]
The World EP.2 : Outlaw debuted at #10 on the United Kingdom's Official Albums Chart and #9 on the United Kingdom's Official Album Downloads Chart. Furthermore, "Bouncy (K-Hot Chilli Peppers)" debuted at #65 on the United Kingdom's Official Singles Downloads Chart.[6]
On June 25, Billboard announced that The World EP.2 : Outlaw debuted at #2 on the Top 200 Albums chart.[7] It spent two consecutive weeks on the top 10, making it the first ATEEZ's album to do so.[8] It is also the first ATEEZ's album to spent five consecutive weeks on the chart.[9] It also debuted at #1 on the Top Album Sales chart, the Top Current Album Sales chart, and the World Albums chart.[10]
On August 10, 2023, Circle Chart reported that The World EP.2 : Outlaw received a million certification for surpassing 1 million copies sold.[11] The Mini record version of the album also received a platinum certification for surpassing 250,000 copies sold.[12]
