Taeyang (태양; also known as SOL in Japan) is a South Korean singer under The Black Label. He is a member of the boy group BIGBANG and its sub-unit GD X TAEYANG.
He made his solo debut on May 22, 2008 with his first mini album Hot.
Personal life[]
Relationship[]
On June 2, 2015, it was revealed that he is in a relationship with actress Min Hyo Rin since 2013, which he met on the set of "1AM" music video.[3] In December 2017, it was confirmed by their respective agencies that they planned to marry in February 2018.[4] On February 3, 2018, Taeyang and Min married in a private ceremony with family and friends, officiated by actor Ki Tae-young.[5][6]
On September 27, 2021, Min Hyo Rin’s agency confirmed she is currently pregnant and is expected to give birth soon.[7] On December 6, 2021, YG Entertainment confirmed that the couple recently welcomed their first child, a son.[8]
Military service[]
On February 15, 2018, YG Entertainment confirmed that Taeyang is set to enlist as an active-duty soldier on March 12.[9] He was discharged on November 10, 2019.[10]
