Taedong (Korean: 태동; Japanese: テドン) is a South Korean singer and lyricist under IPQ. He is a member of the boy group OMEGA X, a former member of the pre-debut boy group GIDONGDAE and a pre-debut member of JBJ.
Career[]
2016: BOYS24[]
In 2016, Taedong participated in the reality show BOYS24 but was unable to make the final lineup.
2017: Produce 101 Season 2, JBJ, departure from The Vibe Label[]
In 2017, Taedong was a contestant on Produce 101 Season 2, representing The Vibe Label, but was eliminated in episode 10, ending with a final rank of #30.
Following the end of Produce 101 Season 2, he was intended to debut as a member of the project group JBJ as their seventh member. Unfortunately, he was unable to debut with them and was prevented from joining the group after requesting contract termination with The Vibe Label.[1][2]
2019–2021: GIDONGDAE[]
On August 1, 2019, Taedong was revealed as a member of the pre-debut boy group GIDONGDAE.[3] On June 3, 2020, they released their first pre-debut single "Party Like This".
On January 12, 2021, GIDONGDAE's canceled debut was confirmed by Kiwon.[4]
2021: Debut with OMEGA X[]
On March 26, 2021, Taedong was officially revealed as one of the 11 members that were a part of the upcoming boy group OMEGA X.[5] The group debuted on June 30, 2021 with the mini album Vamos.
