Taecyeon (택연) is a South Korean rapper, singer-songwriter, actor and entrepreneur under 51K and WME. He is the main rapper of the boy group 2PM.

On July 25, 2018, it was announced that Taecyeon had signed with 51K following his contract expiration with JYP Entertainment after deciding to not renew, but will still be active as a member of 2PM.^[2]

Taecyeon quietly enlisted on September 4, 2017.^[3] He was discharged on May 16, 2019.^[4]

Relationship[]

On June 23, 2020, Xportnews reported that Taecyeon is in a relationship with a non-celebrity. Later that day, the report was confirmed by his company 51K.^[5]

On February 5, 2025, a photographer uploaded through his SNS photos of Taecyeon presenting a ring to his girlfriend while kneeling in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. These photos have since been deleted by the original poster however, they had quickly spread on online communities. 51K clarified that the photos were taken last year to celebrate Taecyeon's girlfriend's birthday, and were not taken as part of a marriage proposal. They added that the couple is still dating but do not have immediate plans for marriage as of yet.^[6]
