Let's go TREN-D! Hello, we are TREN-D!
(Let's go TREN-D! 안녕하세요, 트랜디입니다!)

—TREN-D

TREN-D (트랜디) was a four-member girl group under Baeksang Entertainment. They debuted on October 2, 2013 with the single "Candy Boy".

The group presumably disbanded due to inactive since late 2016.

Their group name originally stood for the first letter of each member's stage name, expressing their strong ambition to lead the trend in the music industry.[1][2]

History[]

2013: Debut with "Candy Boy"[]

On June 22, 2013, Baeksang Entertainment announced that they would be debuting a five-member girl group named TREN-D.[3]

On October 2, TREN-D made their debut with the digital single "Candy Boy". The lineup consisted of Tami, Ruru, Elly, Nayul and DanB.[4]

2014: Elly's departure, comeback with "Heart Fluttering" & addition of Bona[]

In February 2014, Elly was absent from their activities as she was sick.[5]

On March 21, TREN-D returned with their second digital single "Heart Fluttering" as a four-member group. Shortly after this release, Elly left the group on April 9.[6]

On October 5, Bona was revealed as a new member at their fanmeeting.[7]

2015: Comeback with "Jung", Nayul, DanB, Tami's departure and Eunbyeol, Ryu-Z, Hayoung's addition[]

On April 21, 2015, the group released their third digital single "Jung". This was followed by the release of the repackage album Jung (Re-Package) on June 29.

On August 1, Nayul appeared to have been replaced by a new member named Eunbyeol.[8][n 1]

On September 18, Baeksang Entertainment announced that DanB and Tami would be leaving the group on the 30th of the same month as their contracts with the agency expired.[9]

On October 19, two new members, Hayoung and Ryu-Z, were introduced and the group became five once again.[10]

2016: Ruru's departure and disbandment[]

On March 31, 2016, Ruru left the group as her contract with the agency ended.[11] After her departure, the group continued as four, before presumably disbanding silently in late 2016 due to inactivity.

Notes[]

  1. This was rather confusing as Eunbyeol was sometimes spotted wearing an outfit with Nayul's name on it.
