TOP GIRL (탑걸) is a nine-member girl group under Rainbow E&M. They made their debut on June 8, 2021 with the release of their first digital single "Show Me".

They are the third group created under the Future Idol Asia project.[1]

History[]

2020–present[]

In 2020, Rainbow Company (later known as Rainbow E&M) created Future Idol, an idol development project for the purpose of debuting various project idol groups throughout 2021 through its project, known as 'Future Idol Asia'. On November 21, 2020, Future Idol Asia introduced TOP GIRL and its members through their YouTube, FutureIdolTV.[2] Throughout the next couple of months, FutureIdolTV uploaded several dance and song covers of the individual members before finally announcing their upcoming debut on June 8, 2021 with the release of their debut single "Show Me" and as the third girl group in the debut project.[3][4]

TOP GIRL was also one of several teen idol groups who performed a showcase at YES24 Live Hall on May 23, 2021 as part of the 'Future Idol Debut Project' event.[5]

  • The girl group has two members who share the same stage name, Yeeun. However one's surname is Kim while the other's is Chae.
  • During the 2021 Future Idol showcase, Jion passed the first round of auditions of Kakao Entertainment and Rainbow Company.[6][7]
  • During the same showcase, [Chae] Yeeun also passed the first round of auditions for Rainbow Company.[7]
    • Yeeun passed the second round of auditions on July 3.[8]
