TDYA (투데이야; also as TODAYA) was a four-member project girl group formed through Studio USOG's variety show Another Day of Debut Training in collaboration with South Korea's Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs for the purpose of performing at a musical festival in honor of South Korea's 80th Liberation Day.[1] The group released their digital single "Keep The Light" on August 14, 2025 and held their debut stage the following day during the National Sovereignty Festival.[2]

The group disbanded effectively after fulfilling its purpose.

History[]

Pre-debut[]

On July 3, 2025, Studio USOG (in collaboration with South Korea's Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs) teased their upcoming debut program Another Day of Debut Training which revealed the group they would be producing would debut sometime in August 2025. Their episodes would be aired every Friday until debut.[3]

On July 4, the first episode aired with livestreamer and content creator FRIENDSHIPING as the host of the program. She revealed she was the first one to be approached to be a part of this project idol group. She also revealed she was requested to recruit members to perform with her at a musical festival in honor of South Korea's 80th Liberation Day in August 15.[1]

On July 16, a press conference was held revealing that 1MILLION dance studio's Amy Park, rapper Mirani and LOONA and Loossemble's HyunJin would be joining FRIENDSHIPING as members of this project. The same day, it was announced that singer-songwriter EJAE would be participating in the creation of the group's debut song.[4]

On July 23, it was announced that all of the group's music revenue would be donated to the descendants of South Korea's liberation and independence activists.[5]

On July 25, their group name was revealed to be TODAYA (officially stylized as TDYA).[6]

2025: Debut with "Keep The Light" and disbandment[]

On August 8, 2025, it was announced that TDYA would debut with the digital single "Keep The Light".[7] On August 14, it was announced that the group would be making its official debut later that day with the release of their single on streaming platforms.[8] It was also announced that the group would hold their debut stage the following day during the National Sovereignty Festival: "80 Years of Liberation, Building the Future with National Sovereignty".[2]

The group disbanded effectively after fulfilling its purpose. Member HyunJin confirmed TDYA's disbandment on the web series Motchuh Do Rock!, saying "since it is a project, it ended as soon as it started. It was right after the debut."[9]

  1. When the group was deciding on the member's positions in Another Day of Debut Training episode 3, it was stated that the group does not have "sub" or "lead" positions. Rather, the members all have the "main" title in their position.
  2. FRIENDSHIPING states her position is Main Variety member which is an equivalent to Face of the Group.
  3. 3.0 3.1 Amy (born 1995) officially holds the maknae position after discussions with the group because she wants to have this role of being mischievous. However, in terms of age, HyunJin (born 2000) is actually the youngest out of the four members.
  4. Mirani is also mentioned to be the official "giant baby" of the group in conjunction with her being the Main Cutie. While she is a soloist rapper, she said she wanted to be the Main Ending Fairy more than being the group's Main Rapper.
