TAN (티에이엔; formerly 탄), short for To All Nations, was a seven-member project boy group under Think Entertainment. Formed through the MBC survival show Wild Idol, they made their debut on March 10, 2022 with the mini album Limited Edition '1TAN'.[3]
The group officially disbanded on June 29, 2024.
History[]
Pre-debut: Wild Idol and fanclub name[]
Wild Idol was an audition program that evaluated contestants based on their physical stamina, skill level, and hidden potential as they take to the outdoors and battle for the chance to debut. It premiered on September 17, 2021. The debut group's name and lineup were announced during the December 16 finale.[4]
On February 24, 2022, TAN announced that their fanclub name will be SODA, which stands for Special, Oxygen, Dynamic, and Adorable.[1] The next day, they also released their four official colors: Pantone 16-0924 TPX, Pantone 18-1321 TPX, Pantone 19-1119 TPX, and Dark Side of the Moon.[2]
2022: Debut with Limited Edition '1TAN' , W Series '2TAN' , and "Dream & Deurim", TAN 2023 America Tour, TAN Japan 1st 'To All Nations', sub-units[]
On February 25, 2022, a teaser was released revealing that they would debut with their first mini album Limited Edition '1TAN' on March 10.[5]
On June 7, a teaser was released revealing that they would release their second mini album W Series '2TAN' (Wish ver) on June 21.[6]
On July 12, a teaser was released revealing that they would release the second part of their second mini album W Series '2TAN' (We ver) on July 26.[7]
On August 4, the Korean characters of the group's name was changed from "탄" to "티에이엔".[8]
On October 1, a teaser was released revealing that they would release their first single album "Dream & Deurim" on October 11.[9]
On November 12, they announced that they're going to hold their first America tour TAN 2023 America Tour, revealing also Brazil and United States dates on November 16 and November 26.[10][11][12]
On December 5, they announced that they will hold their first Japan concert TAN Japan 1st 'To All Nations' from December 9 to December 25.[13]
On December 10, they revealed their first two new sub-units, kimseobanglim and Shmallow through two songs as part of TAN CIVIL WAR where the two units will release songs.[14][15]
2023: Essege, Tan Made, Proxima[]
On February 23, 2023, a teaser revealed that they would release their first special album Essege on March 10.[16]
On July 25, the group posted a teaser announcing that they would release their third mini album Tan Made on August 11.[17] The mini album was then released with "Heartbeat" as the album's title track.
On July 31, the concert dates for their second America tour TAN MADE [I] Tour was announced. The first date was to take place on September 28 in Fresno, California.[18] A pop up event was then announced on September 26 to take place the next day.[19] On September 27, it was announced that Hyunyeop is unable to attend the tour due to unavoidable circumstances.[20]
On October 26, the group announced that they will release their pre-debut Japanese mini album Proxima on December 26.[21]
2024: "Seven Forever", W Series '3TAN' (World Ver.), disbandment[]
On March 10, 2024, TAN released the digital single "Seven Forever", which includes the reinterpretations of five songs from Wild Idol, to celebrate the group's second debut anniversary.[22]
On March 11, the group unveiled the promotion schedule for their first full-length album, W Series '3TAN' (World Ver.), which will be released on March 28.[23]
On June 29, Changsun announced on the group's official fan cafe that the group had disbanded and he is stepping down as leader as he leaves the idol industry.[24]
