T.O.P is a South Korean rapper-songwriter and actor. He is best known as a lead rapper of the boy group BIGBANG.

He has branched out to act in various dramas and films, including I Am Sam, Iris, Nineteen,71: Into the Fire, Commitment and Tazza The High Rollers 2.


2006: Debut with BIGBANG

T.O.P debuted as a member of BIGBANG on August 19, 2006 with their first single album "BIGBANG"

2010: Solo debut

T.O.P debuted as a soloist on June 21, 2010 with his first digital single "Turn It Up".

2022: Departure from YG Entertainment

On February 7, 2022, it was announced that T.O.P's exclusive contract with YG Entertainment has ended, although he will still participate in group activities.[1]

Personal life

Military service

He enlisted for his mandatory military service as a public service worker on February 9, 2017[2] and was discharged on July 6, 2019.[3]
