"Stay" was first performed in concerts as a collaboration song by MAS (now ONEWE) and RBW BOYZ (now ONEUS) for their I Shall Debut project under RBW.[1] The collaboration was originally recorded by the two groups and copyright registered in 2018, prior to ONEUS' debut and ONEWE's re-debut in 2019.[2] ONEWE later rearranged "Stay" into a medley with "Love Poem" by IU and "Make It Right" by BTS, released on January 31, 2020 on the band's official YouTube.[3] On December 13, 2021, a special teaser was released announcing that ONEWE and ONEUS re-recorded and would officially release "Stay" on December 21.[4]
