Solji (솔지) is a South Korean singer and lyricist. She is the leader and main vocalist of the girl group EXID, a member of its sub-unit SoljiHani and a former member of 2NB.
She made her solo debut on January 15, 2008 with the digital single "Challenge".
Career[]
2006–2008: 2NB & solo debut[]
On March 31, 2006, she made her official debut in the industry as a member of the duo 2NB. She was a member of the duo until their disbandment in 2012.

2012–2018: EXID, SoljiHani & hiatus[]
On April 2012, she, alongside Hyelin, joined EXID following the departure of the members Yuzi, Dami and Haeryeong. She made her debut with them on August 13, 2012 with their first mini album, Hippity Hop.
In early-February 2016, it was announced by the agency that she and Hani would form a subunit called "Dasoni". The sub-unit released their debut single "Goodbye" on February 15.[2]
On December 20, 2016, Banana Culture announced that Solji had been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, and would take a break from activities to focus on her recovery. The group would continue their activities with 4 members.[3]
In January 2018, she underwent orbital decompression surgery.[4]
Her first appearance to the public was through the reality show The King of Mask Singer, and her first comeback with EXID was in the single album "I Love You", release in November that year.[5]
2020: Change of agencies[]
On February 4, several media outlets reported that she had decided to terminate her exclusive contract with Banana Culture. Later that day, the reports were confirmed by Solji, however, a source at Banana Culture commented that the termination was still being discussed.[6]
On March 23, C-JeS Entertainment announced that Solji had recently signed a contract with them, confirming her departure from Banana Culture and the change of agencies.[7]
On June 18, it was announced that Solji would be returning with a digital single on July 9. It is her first solo release in 12 years and first under C-JeS.[8]
On July 17, 2024, news outlet MHN Sports reported that Solji had parted ways with C-JeS Entertainment following the conclusion of her exclusive contract.[9]

- She has martial arts training: she has a red belt in hapkido and is skilled with the nunchaku.[11]
