Sing Again 4 (싱어게인4), also known as SingAgain4 - Battle of the Unknown (싱어게인4 - 무명가수전), is the fourth season of the JTBC singing reality survival show Sing Again. It premiered on October 14, 2025 and concluded on January 6, 2026.

The winner of the show received a prize of ₩300,000,000.[1] The contestants who finished in second and third place received ₩30,000,000 each in music activity funding. The top 10 contestants received the opportunity to participate in the show's concert tour.[2]

Background[]

On February 7, 2025, JTBC announced that they were recruiting singers to compete on Sing Again 4. Singers who had released at least one song as a single or as part of an album were eligible to apply regardless of their gender, nationality, or genre.[3] The application deadline was July 11.[4]

On September 9, it was announced that the show would premiere on October 14. Lee Seung Gi was confirmed to be returning as the MC. Yim Jae Beom, Yoon Jong Shin, Baek Ji Young, Kim Eana, Kyuhyun, Lee Hae Ri, and Code Kunst were confirmed to be returning as judges. Taeyeon was announced as the new judge who would be replacing Sunmi.[5]

On October 1, photos, introduction statements, and the identifying numbers of the 81 contestants who passed the application process & preliminary round were revealed.[6]

On October 7, a preview of the first round was released with a teaser of a new category of contestants in this season.[7]

On October 14, a production presentation with the MC, judges, and producers of Sing Again 4 was released with an extended preview of the first round.[8]

On October 24, they started recruiting audience members for the semi-final round which would be filmed on November 18.[9]

On November 14, they started recruiting audience members for the final round. The performances were filmed on December 9 and December 30.[10] The announcement of the winner aired live on January 6, 2026 in the final episode.[11]

Episodes[]

Episodes 1–3: 1R group survival battle (October 14, 2025 – October 28, 2025)[]

The first round was filmed on September 2.[12]

The contestants had the choice of joining one of six groups. They were instructed to join the group that they thought described themselves the best. The judges would be watching the contestants in each group perform one by one.

There was also a seventh group added in this season that was explained in the third episode. It was called the Again group, and it featured singers who were contestants in previous seasons of Sing Again.

The contestants in the Sugar Man group and the OST group performed a song they were known for. The contestants in the other groups performed a cover of their choice.

During each performance, the eight judges could press their Again button if they wanted the contestant to advance to the next round. Contestants who received 6 to 8 presses passed the round instantly. Contestants who received 0 to 3 presses were eliminated instantly.

Contestants who received 4 or 5 presses were placed on hold until all the contestants finished performing. Then, the judges gave additional passes to some of the contestants on hold, and the others were eliminated.

The eight judges also had one Super Again each that they could use. It allowed them to save a contestant who was about to be eliminated and gave them a pass to the next round. Each Super Again was usable until the end of the third round.

A total of 41 contestants were eliminated during the first round, and 40 advanced to the second round. The names of the contestants who were eliminated during the first round were revealed on the show's website after the third episode aired.[13] The contestants who were eliminated after being placed on hold were shown in an unaired clip that was released on YouTube.[14]

It was also announced that performances that were not shown during the first three episodes due to time constraints would be released every Friday on the JTBC Music YouTube channel. They started by releasing six of the performances on October 31. They finished releasing the remaining performances by December 12.

Episodes 4–5: 2R team battle (November 4, 2025 – November 11, 2025)[]

The second round was filmed on or before October 1.[50]

The judges split the top 40 contestants into teams of two. Then, they paired each team with an opposing team, and they assigned the teams a decade to choose a song from to perform.

After two teams in a battle finished performing, each of the eight judges pressed their Again button for the team that they wanted to advance to the next round. The members of the team that received more presses won the battle and passed the round instantly. Then, the judges had a meeting to decide whether to give an additional pass to one of the contestants in the team that lost. Kyuhyun, Code Kunst, Taeyeon, and Lee Hae Ri could also use their Super Again to save one of the contestants since they did not use it during the first round. If a battle ended in a tie, then the judges had a meeting to decide who would advance to the next round.

All contestants who lost their battle and did not receive an additional pass or Super Again were eliminated. A total of 16 contestants were eliminated during the second round, and 24 advanced to the third round.

Episodes 6–7: 3R rival battle (November 18, 2025 – November 25, 2025)[]

The third round was filmed on October 7 which was one week before the first episode aired.

The top 24 contestants were split into twelve 1 vs. 1 battles.

After two contestants in a battle finished performing, each of the eight judges pressed their Again button for the contestant who they wanted to advance to the next round. The contestant who received more presses won the battle and passed the round instantly. The contestant who lost became an elimination candidate. If a battle ended in a tie, then the judges had a meeting to decide the winner of the battle.

After all the battles were finished, the judges had a meeting to decide which elimination candidates would receive an additional pass.[51] Also, this was the last round that Kyuhyun, Code Kunst, and Taeyeon were able to use their Super Again to save a contestant from elimination. Code Kunst and Taeyeon ended up not using their Super Again during this season.[52]

A total of eight contestants were eliminated during the third round, and 16 advanced to the fourth round. An extended version of the elimination segment was released on YouTube after the seventh episode aired.[53]

Episodes 8–10: 4R top 10 decider (December 2, 2025 – December 16, 2025)[]

The fourth round was filmed on October 29 which was one day after the third episode aired.

The top 16 contestants were randomized into four groups of four. Contestants who were in the same group would be competing against each other. Lee Seung Gi created the groups and the order of the performances by randomly picking the contestants' numbers from a table.

After a contestant performed, the eight judges could press their Again button if they wanted the contestant to advance to the top 10. They could press their Again button for as many contestants as they wanted. The first eight spots in the top 10 were given to the two contestants who received the most Again button presses in each of the four groups.

After all the contestants finished performing, the eight contestants who did not get a spot in the top 10 participated in a consolation match, where they each performed one more song. Then, the judges had a meeting to decide who would get the last two spots in the top 10.[54]

A total of six contestants were eliminated, and the top 10 advanced to the fifth and semi-final round. An extended version of the elimination segment was released on YouTube after the 10th episode aired.[55]

In the semi-final round, the top 10 contestants were split into five 1 vs. 1 battles.

After two contestants in a battle finished performing, each of the eight judges pressed their Again button for the contestant who they wanted to advance to the top 7. The contestant who received more presses won the battle and passed the round instantly. The contestant who lost became an elimination candidate. If there was a tie, then the judges had a meeting. They could either choose one of the two contestants to be the winner of the battle, or they could choose to turn both of the contestants into elimination candidates instead.

After the five battles were finished, there were four winners and six elimination candidates. Before leaving the studio, 401 members of the audience were each allowed to vote for exactly one of the six elimination candidates who they wanted to advance to the top 7. Then, there was a consolation match between the elimination candidates, where they each performed one more song. Each of the judges gave each performance a separate score out of 10. There were no audience members for the consolation match.

Each elimination candidate ended up with a score from the audience's votes based on their semi-final performance, and a score from the judges based on their consolation match performance. Both scores were worth 50% each. The three elimination candidates with the highest total scores received the last three spots in the top 7.[58][59]

A total of three contestants were eliminated during the semi-final round, and the top 7 advanced to the sixth and final round. An extended version of the elimination segment was released on YouTube after the 11th episode aired.[60]

Episodes 12–13: 6R final (December 30, 2025 – January 6, 2026)[]

Part 1: New song mission top 4 decider[]

The first part of the final round was filmed with a live studio audience on December 9 which was the day the ninth episode aired.

The top 7 contestants performed new songs produced for them by Kim Hyungsuk, Kim Do Hun of RBW, 10cm, Cloud Koh of Bye Bye Badman, An Shinae & Ziyoon, GroovyRoom, and Cho Won Sang of LUCY. The new songs were released on December 24. The total number of streams that the new songs gained on Melon and Genie until the end of January 4 counted towards the final results.

The performances aired during the 12th episode on December 30. An unaired interview segment with the top 7 contestants was released on YouTube before the episode started.[62] The order of the performances was determined through the contestants picking random numbers from a table. Unlike the previous season, there were eliminations during the first part of the final round. After a contestant performed, each judge gave the performance a separate score out of 100. Also, 373 audience members had a remote control that they could use to give the performance a score of 1 or a score of zero. The score from the judges was worth 70%, and the score from the audience was worth 30%.

The four contestants with the highest total scores advanced to the second part of the final round, and the other three contestants were eliminated.[63][64]

The performances for the second part of the final round were filmed with a live studio audience on December 30 which was the day the 12th episode aired.

Each of the top 4 contestants performed a cover of their choice and another new song. The new songs were produced for them by Lee Mujin, Hwang Hyun of MonoTree, GroovyRoom, and d.ear. They were released on December 31. The performances aired during the 13th and final episode on January 6. The order of the performances was determined based on the rankings in the first part of the final round. The order was revealed before the episode aired.[67]

Before the final results were revealed, Yim Jae Beom performed his new single "Life Is a Drama" which was written by Kim Eana.[68] There were also special group performances by Baek Ji Young, Yim Jae Beom, and returning contestants sEODo, Kyuri, Kim Ye Chan, Choi Jung Chul, gongwon, and Lee Sangwoong during the episode.[69][70]

Final results[]

The winner of the show was announced live at the end of the 13th episode.[71] They were awarded the grand prize of ₩300,000,000.[1] The contestants who finished in second and third place were awarded ₩30,000,000 each in music activity funding. The top 3 contestants also received a premium sofa from the show's sponsor Jakomo.[2][72]

The final results were calculated based on the online early voting (10%), the streams of the new songs on Melon & Genie (20%), the scores from the judges for the second part of the final round (30%), and the live voting through ALLCHART & text messages during the episode (40%). Detailed calculations of the results were released on the show's official website on January 7.[73]

Online early voting[]

On October 29, online early voting started on the show's official website and ALLCHART after the first round ended and the third episode aired.

Voting could be done once per day by JTBC and ALLCHART account users. Voting initially involved picking exactly six contestants to vote for. After December 16, when there were 10 contestants left, voting involved picking exactly four contestants to vote for. After December 23, when there were seven contestants left, voting involved picking up to four contestants to vote for. Voting closed at the end of January 5.

The votes counted towards 10% of the final results to determine the winner of the show in the final episode.

Interim rankings[]

On November 4, at the end of the fourth episode, the first interim rankings based on the online early voting were released. They revealed the current top 10 contestants out of all the contestants remaining in the second round. They included all the votes until 10:00 AM (KST) on November 3.[74]

On November 11, the second interim rankings were revealed at the end of the fifth episode. They included all the votes until 5:00 PM (KST) on November 10.[75]

On November 18, ALLCHART revealed the interim rankings as of November 16 at 10:00 AM (KST).[76] The end of the sixth episode revealed the interim rankings as of November 17 at 5:00 PM (KST).[77] The exact time for all the interim updates afterwards was 5:00 PM (KST).

On November 25, the interim rankings as of November 24 were revealed at the end of the seventh episode. There were 16 contestants remaining.[78]

On December 2, the interim rankings as of December 1 were revealed at the end of the eighth episode.[79]

On December 9, the interim rankings as of December 8 were revealed at the end of the ninth episode.[80]

On December 16, the interim rankings as of December 15 were revealed at the end of the 10th episode. There were 10 contestants remaining.[81]

On December 23, the interim rankings as of December 22 were revealed at the end of the 11th episode. There were seven contestants remaining.[82] This was the last interim update before the final results were revealed during the 13th episode on January 6.

  • On January 7, 2026, Music Farm, which was one of the agencies involved in releasing the discography of Sing Again 4, announced that they signed exclusive two-year management contracts with the top 6 contestants including Lee Oh Wook, Dorado, Kim Jaemin, slowly, sEODo, and Kyuri.[83]
