Siesta (씨에스타) was a pre-debut girl group under KD Entertainment.
Their group name is a Spanish word that means "an early afternoon nap".
History[]
Pre-debut[]
On May 21, 2022, KD Entertainment teased the girl group through Melody Pink's Instagram as one of the two new girl groups they were preparing to debut, identified with the tentative name 'btim'.[1]
On July 23, KD Entertainment officially revealed the group as TIM B (팀비) with the three members: Seoyoung, Jungwon and Mijin.[2][3][4] The three members were also previously introduced as members of Melody Pink, though it is currently unknown if TIM B is Melody Pink's new members or a new group altogether.[5][6]
In October 2022, all posts featuring members Jungwon and Seoyoung were deleted. Fans speculated that they left the group. However, by December of that year, member Jungwon had rejoined.
On October 17, 2022, TIM B introduced a new maknae, Minju, whose introduction post stated she is practicing with Mijin.[7] In late December, TIM B revealed their official group name to be Siesta (씨에스타). With this, it was assumed that Siesta is an entirely new girl group unrelated to Melody Pink.
Sometime in mid 2023, in addition to their inactivity, the group's SNS accounts had been deleted which hinted their disbandment.
Aftermath[]
- Mijin was introduced as a member of the upcoming girl group Z GIRLS in August 2023.[8][9] However, the group had disbanded without a debut. Along side Jungwon, Minjin was revealed to have signed with Shinwha Entertainment on April 26, 2024 and introduced as a member of NEXTU's first unit under the stage name, Chloe.[10]
- Jungwon joined Mijin as a talent under Shinwha Entertainment and as a member of NEXTU's first unit. She is now known by the stage name, Jella.[10]
- Seoyoung signed with Be the max Entertainment. She became a member of the pre-debut girl group I:MOND under her new stage name, Youngwon.[11] Then, she made her debut with the girl group in May 2024.
- Minju's circumstances are still currently unknown.
