Shotaro (Korean: 쇼타로; Japanese: ショウタロウ) is a Japanese rapper under SM Entertainment. He is a member of the boy group RIIZE and a former member of the boy group NCT and its sub-unit NCT U.
Career[]
2020: Debut with NCT and NCT U[]
On September 21, 2020, it was revealed that Shotaro, along with Sungchan, will be debuting in NCT with the album NCT Resonance Pt. 1.[2] He was officially introduced in the V Live broadcast on September 23.[3]
On October 12, he made his official debut under the sub-unit NCT U, as a part of the NCT's 2020 project NCT Resonance Pt. 1, with the song "Make A Wish (Birthday Song)".
2023: Departure from NCT and debut with RIIZE[]
On May 24, SM announced that Shotaro would be officially leaving NCT in order to join the agency's upcoming new boy group scheduled to debut within 2023.[4] On August 1, 2023, Shotaro was officially introduced as a member of RIIZE.[5]
They debuted on September 4, 2023 with their first single album "Get A Guitar".
