Sana (사나) is a Japanese singer under JYP Entertainment. She is a member of the girl group TWICE.

Career

2015: SIXTEEN, TWICE

On May 5, 2015, she became a contestant on JYP's newest survival show, SIXTEEN. She finished the survival in 6th place, hence becoming a member of the girl group TWICE.[1] They officially debuted on October 20, 2015 with their first mini album, The Story Begins

  • Sana got cast to JYP while she was shopping with her friends. She passed the audition on April 13, 2012.

Sana received a lot of backlash but eventually, gained a lot of support from Once.
  • In Gallup Korea's annual music poll which interviews 1,500 people between the ages 13-29, Sana was voted the 17th most popular idol in 2018, which is a tie with her bandmate Jeongyeon and the highest ranked Japanese idol in the history of the poll.[3]
