Samuel (사무엘), also known as Kim Samuel (김사무엘) and previously as Punch (펀치), is a South Korean-American singer under his own label SAMUEL MANAGEMENT & ENTERTAINMENT MUSIC GROUP. He is one half of the former duo 1PUNCH, and is known for participating in Produce 101 Season 2, which he placed 18th in the finale.
He made his solo debut on August 2, 2017 with the mini album Sixteen.
Career[]
2019–2022: Legal dispute with Brave Entertainment, new agency reports[]
On June 8, 2019, Samuel announced that he would be promoting as an independent artist, but Brave Entertainment stated that they would take legal action against his decision, stating that they have not parted ways.[1] This resulted in Samuel and his family requesting to terminate his contract.[2]
On November 17, 2021, the Seoul Central District Court announced that Samuel has won his lawsuit to terminate his contract with Brave Entertainment.[3] On November 22, Brave Entertainment released a statement regarding the court's decision and announced they planned to appeal.[4]
On January 13, 2022, Brave Entertainment announced that they have settled matters over his contract and will officially end their disputes against Samuel.[5]
On January 17, it was reported that Samuel is positively considering a contract with BPM Entertainment although nothing is confirmed yet.[6]
2024: Now[]
On February 13, Samuel shared on Instragram the track list of his third mini album, Now, which was released on April 21.[7][8][9]
2025: "Rockstar"[]
On April 8, 2025, Samuel revealed the track list for his upcoming digital single "Rockstar".[10]

- He carries his dragon ring wherever he goes.
- He is ethnically half Korean, half Mexican.
- He was once given the honor to bat the ceremonial first pitch with Daehwi at pitch during a match between the LG Twins and the Nexen Heroes on March 31.
- His father, José Arredondo, was a successful auto salesman in Bakersfield, California, United States. He was brutally murdered on July 16, 2019 in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico in an unsolved case.[12]
