Sally (샐리), also known by her birth name Liu Xiening (Korean: 류셰닝; Chinese: 刘些宁), is a Chinese singer and actress under T Entertainment. She is a former member of the girl group gugudan and the Chinese project girl group Bonbon Girls 303.
Career[]
2016-2019: Debut with gugudan[]
On June 23, 2016, Sally was revealed as the seventh member of gugudan.[2] The group officially debuted on June 28 with their first mini album Act.1 The Little Mermaid.
In July 2019, it was announced that Sally had signed with the Chinese agency Hot Idol Entertainment and later made her debut in China as an actress in the television series Hello Debate Opponent.
2020-2021: "Time to Bloom", Produce Camp, Bon Bon Girls 303 debut, gugudan's disbandment[]
On February 21, 2020, Sally released her first Chinese digital single, titled "Time to Bloom".
On April 8, it was announced Sally would participate as a contestant on the Chinese survival show Produce Camp 2020.[3] She ranked 6th in the finale, thus becoming a member of Bon Bon Girls 303.[4] The group officially debuted on August 11 with their first mini album The Law of Hard Candy.
On December 30, Jellyfish Entertainment announced that gugudan would disband the following day after four years together, though Sally would remain with the agency for promotions within South Korea.[5]
The following year in mid April 2021, it was announced that Sally's Chinese agency, Hot Idol Entertainment, went out of business, and thus all its former artists were transferred to T Entertainment.
2022-2023: Bon Bon Girls 303's disbandment, departure from Jellyfish[]
On July 4, 2022, Bon Bon Girls 303 officially disbanded after two years of promotions.
On February 24, 2023, Jellyfish Entertainment announced their decision to end their exclusive contract with Sally.[6]
Since the end of her activities in South Korea, Sally has focused on her career as an actress in China.
