Saja Boys is a five-member fictional project boy group. They were created for the Netflix animation film KPop Demon Hunters.

History[]

On April 24, 2025, Netflix unveiled a glimpse of the animation KPop Demon Hunters and its K-Pop trio (later revealed to be HUNTR/X), who sells out stadiums by day and secretly fight as demon hunters by night. The film would focus on their battle against their biggest threat yet, the Saja Boys, a rival boy band of demons in disguise,[1] whose goal is to destroy the hunters for good and steal their fans.[2] Ahn Hyo Seop was cast to be the voice of Saja Boy's leader: Jinu.[1]

On June 19, it was revealed that the vision board of the Saja Boys during the film's creation included several actors, idols and groups, with TXT, BTS, Stray Kids, ATEEZ, BIGBANG and MONSTA X named as few of the inspirations for the Saja Boys. However, the leader of the group, Jinu, was mainly inspired by actors such as Cha Eun Woo[n 2] and Nam Joo-hyuk, while Mystery was inspired by anime men.[3]

Spoiler warning!
This article contains plot details about an upcoming episode.

For generations, demons preyed upon humans to fuel the power of their tyrannical ruler, Gwi-Ma. Their reign of terror was only halted after a group of three women rose as the Hunters and created a barrier, also known as the Honmoon, to shield the human world from demons. To weaken the barrier, a demon named Jinu proposed to Gwi-Ma that they form a demon boy band named Saja Boys to secretly drain the fans' energy, which powered the Honmoon, in exchange for Gwi-Ma erasing his human memories. The group, along with Gwi-Ma, was ultimately defeated by HUNTR/X at the Idol Awards.
