SMTOWN 2022 : SMCU Express is a project created by SM Entertainment.
Background[]
On December 10, 2021, SM announced the launch of their comprehensive content project titled "SMTOWN 2022 : SMCU Express".[1] The project will allow fans to experience the metaverse through a wide variety of futuristic content.[2]
The project consists of:
- "Dreams Come True", a remake of S.E.S.'s song of the same name by aespa, released on December 20, 2021. The song is also part of SM Remastering Project and was released as a SM STATION single as well.[3]
- 2021 Winter SMTOWN : SMCU Express, a winter album released on December 27, 2021
- SMTOWN Experience : Play@Kwangya, a media art exhibition that opened on December 30, 2021 on the first floor of SM's headquarters in Seongsu-dong, Seoul.[4]
- SMTOWN Live 2022 : SMCU Express@Kwangya, a free online concert held on January 1, 2022.
- SMTOWN Live 2022 : SMCU Express@Human City Suwon, an in-person concert held at the Suwon World Cup Stadium in Suwon, South Korea on August 20, 2022.
- SMTOWN Live 2022 : SMCU Express@Tokyo, an in-person concert held at the Tokyo Dome in Japan on August 27, 28 and 29 2022.[5]
