Rollin' is the fourth mini album by Brave Girls. It was released on March 7, 2017 with "Rollin'" serving as the album's title track.
The album marks the group's first release as a five-member group, since the departure of member Yujin in early 2017, and the hiatus of member Hyeran. "Memory" and "No Rush" still feature a rap verse by Hyeran.
Background[]
The group did a crowdfunding effort to subsidize their comeback on the platform Makestar, from September to December 2016, with the schedule of an album release on March 2017.[1]
Music video[]
On the midnight of March 3, 2017, A first music video teaser was uploaded to youtube through the company's website and youtube channel. It was rated 19+ in South Korea. [2] On March 3, the second and final music video teaser was released, showing the dance for the song and the scenes, including the members sitting on a sofa. The final music video was released on March 7. The music video features the girls dancing under a dark moon and thunder background, with chairs being accompanied as part of the choreography. The music video was age restricted on YouTube for under 18+ viewers.
A day after, a dance version was released with no age restriction. On March 9, a clean version was released, cutting the parts from the original music video, where the girls were laying on each other in a black background.
In early February 2020, the different versions of the music video, originally uploaded under Stone Music Entertainment's channel, were deleted from YouTube; allegedly due to the expiration of the distribution contract with Stone Music Entertainment. They were reuploaded on Brave Entertainment's YouTube channel on February 7.
Commercial performance[]
While unsuccessful at the time of its release, the title track achieved later success after a compilation video of the group performing the song, posted on February 23, 2021, went viral on YouTube.[3][4] The song then entered multiple charts, eventually placing #1 on several real-time, daily and weekly charts.[5] This led the group to come back to music shows and variety shows to promote the song once again.[6] On March 11, Brave Girls managed to get a real-time all kill[7], before achieving a perfect all-kill on March 12[8] for several hours, followed by an almost continuous perfect all-kill streak from from March 14 to March 25.[9][10][11][12] On the 25th, "Rollin'" fell down several positions in the chart due to the release of IU's album Lilac, before getting back to the top positions in mid-April.[13][14]

- The revised version of the cover art was inspired by a fanmade creation, posted on Korean forum theqoo on March 1, 2021.[24]
