Rion Five (리온파이브) was a three-member boy group under Souls Entertainment. Originally as five under Narda Entertainment, they debuted on March 25, 2014 with their first self-titled digital single "Rion Five".

The group presumably disbanded sometime in 2021.

History[]

2014: Debut with "Rion Five"[]

On March 25, 2014, Rion Five made their debut with the digital single "Rion Five". The lineup consisted of Rohyoon, Minjae, Taewoo, Yousung and Kangsan.[1]

2015: Addition of Jeonghyeon, "Tuk Tuk Tuk"[]

On February 2, 2015, the group made their first comeback with the digital single "Tuk Tuk Tuk" and the addition of new member Jeonghyeon.[2]

2016: "My Way", "Summer Time", "Miracle Of Christmas"[]

On February 18, 2016, they returned with their third digital single "My Way".

On August 8, they released the collaboration single "Summer Time", a remake of Cool's 1997 hit song of the same name, with their labelmate Cupid.[3]

On December 16, they released their first special single "Miracle of Christmas", in celebration of Christmas.[4]

2017: Produce 101 Season 2, MIXNINE[]

In April 2017, Taewoo appeared as a contestant on Mnet's survival show Produce 101 Season 2. However, he did not pass the second elimination round and was later eliminated at #49 place.

In October, the members auditioned for YG's competition show MIXNINE, but ultimately did not get picked.[n 1]

2018: T.E.N, Kangsan, Rohyoon, Taewoo and Minjae's departure, Victory[]

On January 11, 2018, Narda Entertainment opened a Makestar project in collaboration with Ideal Media Group to debut the project Korean-Chinese project group T.E.N, consisting of Rion Five members and five other trainees.[5]

On March 28, Narda Entertainment released a statement announcing that Kangsan would no longer be able to promote with Rion Five due to personal reasons.[6]

On May 16, T.E.N made their debut with their sole single album"Haeyo Haeyo".

On August 24, Rohyoon announced that he would be leaving the group.[7] Shortly after this, Taewoo and Minjae also announced their departure on September 12.[8][9]

In October, it was reported that remaining members, Jeonghyeon (under the stage name Gunwoo) and Yousung, would be re-debuted as members of Victory, alongside T.E.N's Yonghun and trainees Jeonggyu, Jiwoon.[10][n 2]

2019-2020: Lineup changes[]

On June 8, 2019, the group returned and performed at EVOLT International Dance Fest with the supposed lineup for Victory.[11]

On September 7, Rion Five performed at SIPA 2019 and appeared to have underwent another lineup change, now consisting of Yousung, Yonghun and three new members: Jungwon, Youngjik and former VARSITY member Minsung.[12]

In January 2020, they opened audtions to find new members for the group.[13]

2021: Label change, disbandment[]

In 2021, the group appeared as three with Yousung, Yonghun and former member Jeonghyeon. Meanwhile, the other members were revealed to have left to finish their mandatory military service.[14]

On October 27, it was reported that they had joined Souls Entertainment, as Narda Entertainment had been acquired by the agency, and would be returning with a new album.[15] With this, they held audition to recruit two new members for the group.[14] However, plans presumably fell through and the group disbanded silently.
