Not to be confused with Reverse.

Reverxe (stylized in all-caps) is the eighth full-length album by EXO. It will be released on January 19, 2026 with "Crown" serving as the album's title track.

The album marks the first release to include member Lay in nearly four years, while members Xiumin, Baekhyun and Chen will not partake in the album's production or promotions, presumably due to their ongoing legal dispute with SM Entertainment.[1]

The physical album comes in 10 versions: Cube, Reverse, six individual Compact versions, Ex-vision (QR) and Big SMini.

Background[]

On September 7, 2025, EXO posted a mysterious photo teaser across their social medias that featured the words 'December 2025', seemingly hinting at a comeback.[2] Later, on October 20, it was announced that EXO would be making a comeback in the first quarter of 2026 with six members participating, with the exclusion of the EXO-CBX members (Chen, Baekhyun, Xiumin) and the return of Lay.[1] On December 8, EXO unveiled concept photos and a video teaser announcing their eighth full-length album, titled Reverxe.[3]

Composition[]

"Back It Up" is a dance song that creates a sense of dynamism with a bold synth brass, heavy 808 bass, and repeated beat switching.[4]

"I'm Home" is a pop ballad with a delicate piano melody and strings, expressing the happiness of being together with loved ones again and the wish to stay that way for a long time.[5]

The title track "Crown" is a hard dance song that breaks genre boundaries by blending Atlanta trap drums with heavy metal guitar and EDM synths. The siren effects and the members' powerful vocals build a dramatic tension throughout the track. The lyrics compares a precious being to a crown that many people desire, and contain a pledge to risk everything to protect it to the very end.[6]

"Moonlight Shadows" is an R&B pop song whose detailed electronic pulses added to rich synth textures bring a cinematic charm. It tells the romantic story of two shadows touching each other under the moonlight.[7]

"Crazy" is a dance song that combines electronic pop and Brazilian funk elements based on an 808 bass. The BPM changes increase the sense of immersion while the lyrics describe the emotions of going crazy while trapped in love.[7]

"Suffocate" is a dance song that presents a restrained groove with dry kicks and bass on top of a dreamy synth pad. The lyrics contain the pain of a breakup so painful that it feels impossible to breathe.[7]
