Ready To Be is the 12th mini album by TWICE. It was released on March 10, 2023 with "Set Me Free" serving as the album's title track.

"Moonlight Sunrise" was pre-released on January 20, 2023.

The physical album comes in sixteen versions: Ready, To, Be, nine individual member digipacks, and four vinyl versions. In the United States, four additional digital editions were released on March 13, with different voice memos included.^[1]

Background[]

On December 21, 2022, TWICE announced that they would be making a comeback in the first quarter of 2023 (labeled as Our Youth), starting with a pre-release English single in January, followed by their 12th mini album in March.^[2] On January 3, 2023, it was revealed their pre-release English single, "Moonlight Sunrise", would be released on January 20.^[3]

On February 3, it was announced that TWICE will be releasing their 12th mini album, Ready To Be, on March 10.^[4] Pre-orders for the album started the same day.^[5]

On February 17, TWICE released the track list on their social media accounts.^[6]

Promotions[]

On March 9, TWICE performed "Set Me Free" for the first time at The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Show.^[7] They also performed "Moonlight Sunrise" at the The Kelly Clarkson Show on March 14.^[8]

Events[]

A pop-up experience was organised in Los Angeles, USA, prior to the album release on March 4 and 5. The experience offered dedicated merchandising and special activities.^[9]

On March 10, the Empire State Building in New York City, USA, was lit with TWICE's official colors to celebrate the release of the album.^[10]^[11]

Commercial performance[]

On March 8, 2023, it was announced that Ready To Be reached 1.7 million pre-orders.^[12]

Hanteo reported that Ready To Be sold 651,205 copies in its first week of release.^[13]

Ready To Be debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 chart. In total the album had 153,000 equivalent album units (145,500 traditional album sales and 7,000 streaming equivalent album units), making it the biggest U.S. sales week of any female K-pop artist.^[14] It spent three consecutive weeks on the top 30,^[15] and nine consecutive weeks on the chart overall, which makes it TWICE's first album to do so.^[16] It also spent eleven weeks on the chart in total.^[17]

On May 11, 2023, Ready To Be received a million certification for reaching 1 million accumulated copies sold.^[18]

On April 23, 2024, the Recording Industry Association of Japan awarded "Set Me Free" a gold certification.^[19]
