Raon (Koran: 라온; Japanese: ラオン), also known as Raon Lee, is a South Korean singer under Accelers. She made her debut as a soloist singer on February 2, 2022 in Japan with the digital single "Queen Fox". She later went onto also make a debut in Korean music with the digital single, "♡Like Like♡", released on March 15, 2023.

Career[]

Early beginnings[]

Prior to releasing original music in 2022 as an officially debuted singer, Raon had her beginnings on YouTube where she opened a channel in January 2014. On her YouTube channel, she focused her content on covering popular Japanese anime songs and songs by other Japanese artists. Her most popular cover song to date is "Silhouette" which was the 16th ending song of the anime Naruto Shippuden. The song has over 100 million views as of today, while many of her other cover song videos have 10+ million views each.[1] As of 2023, she has an accumulative total of 4+ million YouTube subscribers and over 1+ billion views across all her videos. Since 2016, Raon has also been active as a streamer on Twitch and the Chinese streaming site Bilibili, in which she also found great success.

The success of her YouTube career and popularity ultimately made her one of the most successful utaite singers online and her YouTube channel was ranked in top 100 most subscribed to Korean YouTubers for almost a decade.

2022: Japanese debut as a singer[]

In 2022, Raon signed with Universal Music Japan to officially have a debut as a Japanese singer. Her debut single, "Queen Fox", was released on February 9, 2022.

That same year, Raon went onto release four more Japanese digital singles: "Wiggle Wiggle" on April 20, "Mysterious Nue" on July 30 and "Be the Hero" on October 8.

On June 11, it was revealed in a news release that Raon had signed an exclusive contract with the South Korean agency Accelers.[2][3]

On November 25, she released a special single, "You&I", which was used as the official theme song for Anime x Game Festival 2022 event held in South Korea. The festival began with an opening concert held by Raon where she sang the song.

2023–present: Korean debut[]

On March 7, 2023, Raon revealed that she will be releasing her first Korean digital single, "♡Like Like♡".[4][5] The single was later released on March 15.

On April 3, Raon released her first special single, "Fill Me in Black".[6]

On April 13, Raon revealed that she will be releasing a special Japanese compilation album, Ra:Only vol.1, made up of selected cover songs.[7] The album was released on April 19.[8]

On May 22, Raon revealed that she will be releasing her fifth Japanese digital single, "Neon", on May 31.[9]
