REDSQUARE (레드스퀘어) was a five-member girl group under ICONIC MnE. Formed by About Entertainment, they debuted on May 19, 2020 with the single album "Prequel".
They are presumably disbanded due to their rebranding as IRRIS in June 2022.
History[]
2020: Debut with "Prequel", label changes[]
On March 23, About Entertainment announced that they would debut their first five member girl group in May 2020, and subsequently released the first teaser.[1] From April 8 to April 14, the five members were revealed through the company's Twitter acount, starting with 'A' (Ari), followed by 'L' (Lina), 'G' (Green), 'B' (Bomin), and 'C' (Chaea) respectively.[2][3][4][5][6] On April 28, a teaser video featuring all five members was posted, setting the group's debut date to May 19.[7]
On May 19, the group officially debuted with the single album "Prequel" and its title track "ColorFull".[8]
On December 31, the group announced that they had signed with a new label, ICONIC MnE.[9]
2022: Re-debut[]
On June 10, it was revealed REDSQUARE had officially rebranded as IRRIS after launching their new SNS accounts and are presumably under Mellow Entertainment due to the agency following the group's Twitter account.[10] Later that same day, a teaser photo with the caption "I tRuely Realized that I can be all colorS" and hashtags #newstart #storygoeson #colors #irris was posted on their new SNS handles, indicating a new start.[11]
