Proof is the first anthology album by BTS. It was released on June 10, 2022 with "Yet To Come (The Most Beautiful Moment)" serving as the album's title track.

The physical album comes in three versions: Standard, Compact and Collector’s Edition.

Background[]

On April 17, 2022, BigHit Music announced through a statement on Weverse that BTS would be releasing a new album on June 10 with more information to be shared at a later date.[1] A logo trailer was posted on May 5 which announced the name of the album to be, Proof.[2] BigHit later explained that Proof is an anthology album that looks back at the group's nine-year history and would consist of three CDs of different tracks including three new tracks.[3]

On May 7, the promotion schedule and title track's name and cover were released.[4][5]

Commercial performance[]

According to Hanteo Chart, by 9 p.m. KST on the release day, Proof had sold over 2.15 million copies.[6] On June 11, "Yet To Come (The Most Beautiful Moment)" had reached #1 on the iTunes Top Songs charts in 97 different regions. The album also hit #1 in 65 different regions on the iTunes Top Albums chart.[7]

"Yet To Come (The Most Beautiful Moment)" debuted at #3 on Spotify's daily global chart after racking up 7,178,605 streams on just its first day, breaking BTS's own record for the highest number of first-day streams of any Korean-language song released on Spotify.[8]

On June 17, Hanteo reported that the album sold 2,752,496 copies in the first week (June 10-June 16) of release. It's the group's fourth album to sell over 2 million copies in its first week.[9]

Proof debuted at #1 on Billboard's Top 200 albums chart for the week of June 10-June 16. It's the group's sixth album to debut at #1 on the chart. According to Luminate, the album sold 314,000 equivalent album units.[10]

Proof also debuted at #1 on Billboard's Top Album Sales chart, Top Current Album Sales chart, World Albums chart, and Tastemaker Albums chart. "Yet To Come (The Most Beautiful Moment)" debuted at #1 on Billboard's Digital Song Sales chart and Global Excl. US chart. It also debuted at #13 on Billboard's Hot 100 while "Run BTS" debuted at #73.[11]

On Billboard's World Digital Song Sales chart, "Yet To Come (The Most Beautiful Moment)" debuted at #1, "Run BTS" debuted at #2, "For Youth" debuted at #3, and "Born Singer" debuted at #4.[12]

Proof received an official double platinum certification in Japan[13] and on November 29th "Yet to Come (The Most Beautiful Moment)" earned a gold certification for reaching 50 million streams.[14]

On August 1, the National Syndicate of Phonographic Publishing announced that Proof had gone gold in France.[15]

Circle Chart reported that Proof sold over 3 million copies which means it received a triple million certification.[16]

Proof has spent 29 consecutive weeks on the Billboard 200 chart and the Billboard World Albums chart.[17]

On February 24, 2023, the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry reported that Proof charted at #4 on their Global Albums Chart for 2022.[18]

On August 25, the British Phonographic Industry gave Proof a silver BRIT certification for selling over 60,000 copies.[19] It was certified gold on December 13, 2024.[20]
