"Parting" (소행성) is the fourth digital single by ONEWE. It was released on September 24, 2020 as a pre-release single for their first demo album Studio We : Recording.
Background[]
On September 11, 2020, a music video teaser for "Parting" was released announcing the song would be revealed through an exclusive live performance at ONEWE's first Ontact live concert O! NEW E!volution on September 12, 2020.
"Parting" was introduced as a sequel following their title track "Regulus" released in 2019, both mainly written and composed by member Kang Hyun, which then became the beginnings of ONEWE's "space series". "Parting" was inspired by a recurring dream which Kang Hyun had since childhood of an asteroid falling to earth. The song is about expressing the sincerity one had not been able to convey to the person they love on the last day before the asteroid hits.[1]
On September 24, "Parting" was pre-released digitally and its music video was released.
On October 8, "Parting" was released in CD format as the title track for the bands first demo album Studio We : Recording, along with its demo "Parting (Prologue Mix)" and demo versions of other songs from ONEWE's previous releases.
