PRISM (프리즘), formerly known as IF I (이프아이), was a four-member girl group under LCH Entertainment. They debuted on May 24, 2018, with the digital single "Chok".

The group presumably disbanded in January 2021 after their agency shut down due to financial difficulties.[1]

History[]

Pre-debut[]

Since 2016, the group had been promoting at various events under the name IF I, with the lineup consisting of Dahye, Leta, Chaehee, Hwijin and Gooreum.[2]

In August 2017, it was reported that the group would be making their debut at the end of that month with a song titled "X-Man".[3] Despite having finished preparations for their debut, it got delayed before getting scrapped altogether due to unknown reasons.[4]

Since October 2017, the group became inactive and Leta, Hwijin and Gooreum presumably left the group during this period.[5]

In December 2017, Dahye confirmed in a DM that the group was preparing to come back even better.[6]

2018: Debut with "Chok"[]

In April 2018, the group returned under the name PRISM and a new lineup consisting of Dahye, Chaehee, now under the stage names Vanhye and Yoonseol, respectively, and two new members: Terra and Ryeowon, On the 21st of the same month, they held their debut showcase.[7]

On May 24, 2018, they made their debut with the digital single "Chok", which was a re-recorded version of their previously cancelled debut song "X-Man".

2019: Comeback with "Burn It Up", Dakyung's departure & disbandment[]

On December 3, 2019, the group returned with their second digital single "Burn It Up".

For the entirety of 2020, the group was inactive. During this period, Dakyung replied to a fan's DM confirming that she had left the group.[8]

In January 2021, it was reported that the group had presumably disbanded as their agency shut down due to financial difficulties.[1]
