"Off Road" is the seventh digital single by ONEWE. It was released on September 4, 2024 with "Off Road" serving as the single's title track.
Background[]
On August 2, 2024, the band announced they would be holding their first outdoor solo concert 2024 ONEWE Golden Festa : ONEderland on August 24 and 25, including special performances of new unreleased songs which have never been revealed before.[1]
On August 20, ONEWE released a schedule plan announcing that their digital single album "Off Road" will be released on September 4.[2]
On September 2, RBW released a statement that Dong Myeong had suffered microfractures to the index and little fingers of his right hand due to a minor accident during his personal schedule. He was advised to refrain from using his fingers as much as possible and will be wearing finger splints while carrying out his schedule.[3]
Composition[]
The title track "Off Road" is written by the band's maknae Giuk and expresses his heart's desire to go on a vacation with his ONEWE hyungs.[4] The song is the band's first collaboration with foreign composers since debut.[5] The original demo was a pop song, described as understated and subtle with an acoustic and light vibe, which members Kang Hyun and Harin then worked together to rearrange into a rock song with a powerful band sound in ONEWE's own style.[4]
"Solar Halo Ring", written by Giuk and composed by Giuk and Kang Hyun, is described as a summer love song with a glorious band sound.[5] Giuk's friends Aden (credited as BYDOR ARCHIVE) and Gray Dot also participated in the writing and production of the song. The song is inspired by the beauty of a solar halo which Giuk expressed to be more valuable than a diamond ring, with lyrics imagining a proposal by the sea illuminated by the solar halo ring.[4]
"A Piece of You" is written and composed by member Yong Hoon, with Giuk also participating in the lyrics, and confesses an infinite affection for one's only love with a refreshing vintage retro sound.[5]
