Odyssey is the first full-length album by RIIZE. It will be released on May 19, 2025 with "Fly Up" serving as the album's title track.

The physical album comes in 17 versions: seven Photobook versions (group and six individual versions), two Package versions (Earth and Universe), seven SMini versions (six individual SMini versions and Mega SMini), and Sunlove (QR).

Background[]

On February 10, 2025, SM Entertainment revealed that RIIZE will be releasing their first full-length album in the second quarter of the year.^[1] On March 19, SM Entertainment confirmed that the album will be coming out in May.^[2] On April 28, the group dropped a teaser announcing that their first full-length album, Odyssey, would be released on May 19.^[3]

Composition[]

"Odyssey" sings about RIIZE attitude of trusting and relying on each other, and moving forward without fear when facing the start of a new chapter. It combines a synthesizer atmosphere that feels like floating through space with a UK garage rhythm. RIIZE said that it is a song that makes one feel the thrill of standing on the starting block and the excitement before starting a journey.^[4]

"Back Bad Back" is a hip-hop song with heavy bass, groovy drums, and addictive chorus. Whispering and shouting techniques add wit to the track. The lyrics talk about how, just as everyone carries around something they absolutely need in their bag, RIIZE's bag is full of desires to grow into shining artists.^[5]

"Show Me Love" is a pop anthem featuring an addictive bass and an easy-to-sing-along section. It is a cheering song for the youth that delivers a message to listen to your own story rather than others, find what you like, and live for yourself.^[6]

"Midnight Mirage" is a pop song with a fairytale-like atmosphere, heavy bass and dreamy synthesizer. The lyrics sing about filling in a picture on our own canvas with a faintly visible mirage of dawn while everyone is asleep. If the song was to be described with one keyword, RIIZE would use "watercolor-like song".^[7]

"The End of the Day" is a ballad song that harmonizes a warm EP, acoustic guitar, and a rich orchestra. It expresses gratitude to the fans who have been with them from the beginning and cheered them on. The RIIZE members said to like this song so much that they keep singing it.^[8]

"Ember to Solar" is a dance song that leaves a strong impression with brass and a fast-paced beat. It expresses the RIIZE's story of growth which overcomes adversity and soars toward its goal by comparing it to a small spark among the ashes that rekindles and becomes a giant sun. Songwriter Kenzie wrote the song described by RIIZE as a dopamine rush, ideal when doing aerobic exercise or to trigger one's fighting spirit.^[9]

"Inside My Love" is a pop ballad that brings a 1990s retro feel. It talks about how fans who have been with them all this time are RIIZE's everything and the reason for their existence. RIIZE said the song makes them look back on memories with BRIIZE.^[10]

"Another Life" is a pop song with a piano melody, impactful drums, and electric guitar performances. The lyrics contain RIIZE's aspirations for the future and a pledge to do their best without regrets. RIIZE likes the philosophical lyrics that make them think about what they would be like if they took a different path.^[11]

"Passage" is a 39-second instrumental piece in which singer and music producer Yoon Sang participated. The orchestral performance utilized the tremolo technique, creates tension through rapid repetition, and gives the feeling of dreaming amidst various emotions. It served as a passage between an external cry for growth represented by the previous tracks and the narrative of internal reflection given by the later tracks.^[12]
