Oddinary (stylized in all caps) is the sixth mini album by Stray Kids. It was released on March 18, 2022 with "Maniac" serving as the album's title track.
The physical album comes in 11 versions: Scanning, Mask Off, Frankenstein (limited) and 8 individual Jewel case versions.
Background[]
On March 18, 2022, JYP Entertainment announced that all music show activities for the first week of promotions would be canceled after member Changbin tested positive for COVID-19. Member Han also tested positive on March 19 followed by Seungmin, Bang Chan, Lee Know and Hyunjin on March 21.[1] On March 25, JYP Entertainment announced that Changbin and Han's quarantine periods had come to an end and that they were ready to resume activities.[2] Following this news, Stray Kids announced that they would re-comeback and new schedule for the week's promotions was posted.[3]
Commercial performance[]
According to Hanteo Chart, the album sold a total of 853,021 copies in the first week of its release (March 18 to 24). Additionally, Stray Kids has become the boy group with the seventh-highest first-week sales in Hanteo history.[4]
On March 28, Billboard announced that Oddinary had debuted at No. 1 on the Top 200 Albums chart, No. 1 on the World Albums, and No. 2 on both the Top Album Sales chart and the Top Current Album Sales chart, as well as No. 5 on the Tastemaker Albums chart.[5] Oddinary became the first K-pop album released in 2022 to spend seven weeks on the Billboard's Top 200 Albums chart.[6]
On May 5, 2024, the Recording Industry Association of America awarded "Maniac" a gold certification.[7]
