Nayoung (Korean: 나영; Japanese: ナヨン; Chinese: 娜英) is a South Korean singer under Cube Entertainment. She is one of the main vocalists of the girl group LIGHTSUM and a former member of the disbanded trainee group Banana Culture Newkid.
Career[]
2018–2019: Produce 48 and Banana Culture Newkid[]
In June 2018, Kim Nayoung participated in Mnet's survival show Produce 48 as a contestant under Banana Culture, but was eliminated in the eleventh episode after achieving 21st place.[1]
Later that year, she was announced as a member of the pre-debut trainee group, Banana Culture Newkid.[2] However, by spring 2019, the group's debut had been cancelled.
2021: Debut with LIGHTSUM[]
On April 21, 2021, Nayoung was revealed as a member of Cube Entertainment's girl group, LIGHTSUM.[3] The group debuted on June 10 with their first single "Vanilla".
